Tube end forming and spinning

The tube end shape determines the processing method. Select tool-based forming or spinning for the required geometry, material and production workflow.

The required shape comes first

Tube end forming covers the production of a defined end geometry. Spinning is one method and uses a rotating tool. Not every end forming process is spinning, and the capabilities of two spinning machines can differ significantly.

EFO-3e: tool-based end forming

The end profile is produced with selected tooling. Selection covers geometry, operation sequence and material behaviour.

SPM-115: flat closing

Spinning intended for flat closing of copper and brass tubes.

SP-110: closing, reducing and expanding

A spinning machine for copper tubes. Each operation has its own conditions and working range.

TCC-45 EF3 / EF8: cutting and forming

Cutting combined with end forming operations in a line. Capacity follows the configuration and tools selected for the workpiece.

5 items

Select 2–3 models from the same technology family to compare.

TCC-45 EF3 — example manufacturer configuration.

Cutting and end-forming line

TCC-45 EF3

TCC-45 EF3 combines chipless cutting and end forming in one system. Up to three tool strokes can prepare a profile without moving the part to a separate end former.

TCC-45 EF8 — example manufacturer configuration.

Cutting and end-forming line

TCC-45 EF8

TCC-45 EF8 combines tube cutting with a cycle of up to eight forming strokes. It allows a more complex end profile to be planned within one line.

EFO-3e — example manufacturer configuration.

Tube end-forming machine

EFO-3e

EFO-3e performs up to three forming strokes in a programmed cycle. Electric servo drives and tools selected from the drawing produce the required tube end profile.

SPM-115 — example manufacturer configuration.

Spinning machine

SPM-115

SPM-115 closes the ends of copper and brass tubes with a flat profile. An electric servo drive follows the programmed cycle while a rotating tool forms the stationary tube.

SP-110 — example manufacturer configuration.

Spinning machine

SP-110

SP-110 is a spinning machine for copper tubes. The selected tool defines the end shape; capacity is checked separately for closing, reducing and expanding.

Selection with TARGA

What should you prepare?

  • End drawing before and after forming, tolerances and processing zone length.
  • Material and condition, outside diameter and wall thickness.
  • Required leak tightness, finish and end function in the finished product.
  • Complete tube shape, end access and any need to integrate cutting.

Before you choose

Is a spinning machine the same as an end former?

End forming is the broader term. A spinner performs a specific process with a rotating tool; an EFO machine forms ends with selected tooling.

Which model is intended for flat closing?

SPM-115 is intended for flat closing of copper and brass tubes. Feasibility for a specific closure is confirmed from the material and workpiece requirements.

Can spinning replace a separate end cap?

In a suitable application, a closure can be formed from the tube material. The required shape, leak tightness and operating conditions need assessment and appropriate part acceptance.
