T-DRILL automation and production systems

From improving handling at one machine to integrating several operations. Project scope follows the part family, cycle time, changeovers and production organisation.

Automation for a defined production process

Working with T-DRILL’s engineering team, we can develop machines and systems fully adapted to the customer’s project and production. First we analyse operations and part flow, then specify feeding, positioning, processing, unloading and inspection. An individual machine can become part of a larger solution.

Feeding and positioning

AFT/MFT tables and equipment, and positioning systems are selected for the machine and workpiece. Compatibility, motion axes and working range form part of the project specification.

FMS: integrating operations

A flexible manufacturing system can combine stand-alone equipment, handling and successive operations such as cutting, collaring and end forming. The layout is specified for the product family.

TD-Vault: machine and production data

For connected, compatible machines, the system provides production information, machine status and support functions. Connectivity, data access and functions are agreed for the specific installation.

A machine engineered for the task

When a standard configuration does not suit the application, a custom project provides the starting point. We can assess special tools, dimensions, operation sequences and integration with the customer’s process.

Selection with TARGA

What should you prepare?

  • Part family and drawings of representative variants.
  • Current operation sequence, cycle times and bottlenecks.
  • Target cycle time, batch sizes and changeover frequency.
  • Factory layout, material supply, unloading and operator involvement.
  • Inspection, communication, production data and system acceptance requirements.

Before you choose

Must we build a complete line immediately?

The scope can begin with an operation or workstation that limits production. Expansion options are considered when specifying the configuration.

Is TD-Vault standard on every machine?

Available functions and connectivity depend on the machine and configuration. Data and support requirements are recorded in the implementation specification.

What is needed for a custom project?

Representative parts, target cycle time, volume, space constraints and acceptance criteria are particularly useful. These help define the concept scope and required trials.
