Pipe prefabrication ROI calculator

Compare your current process with a proposed scenario. Enter your own assumptions, then verify them on the workpiece or in a proof of concept.

time + labour + components + rework→annual cost difference→simple payback

How to use the calculator

  1. Production: enter annual volume, process time and operator involvement for the current and proposed processes.
  2. Costs: enter the fully loaded labour cost and, where known, component costs, rework costs and investment.
  3. Process: enter welds per workpiece before and after the change. This is a separate indicator and is not added to savings again.

If component or rework costs are unknown, leave 0. Use the selected currency for every cost. Changing the currency does not convert amounts.

1

Production

Compare the current process with your proposed scenario. Pre-filled numbers illustrate the model only; replace them with your own inputs.

The number of these workpieces produced per year.
Total production time for one workpiece in the current process.
Your target scenario, to be verified in a trial or proof of concept.
Operator involvement over the process time entered above.
2

Costs

Enter the relevant process costs. Leave 0 for a cost you are excluding.

The company cost of one operator-hour, including relevant employment costs.
Include the machine, tooling and implementation costs relevant to your payback calculation.
For example: tees, branches, weld-neck flanges or other purchased parts.
Average cost of repairs, weld rework, scrap or additional processing per workpiece.
3

Process

Weld reduction is a process indicator, not an additional cost saving. This avoids double counting.

Scenario results

Results update automatically when you change an input.

—annual cost saving
—labour hours saved per year
—fewer welds per year
—simple payback
—five-year saving after investment

Scenario: —. Your inputs are stored in this browser session and sent to TARGA only when you submit the enquiry form.

A scenario model, not a quotation or guarantee. Target parameters need verification on the actual workpiece or in a trial. The model assumes constant annual volume and costs; financing, tax, discounting, energy, maintenance and downtime are not calculated separately.
