T-DRILL · Collaring

TEC-220Large branches. One working position.

TEC-220 forms branches directly from the run tube wall. Hole milling, collaring and trimming take place at one workstation, for branches up to 219.1 mm outside diameter.

From workpiece to process

When a separate tee complicates prefabrication

When producing branches, compare the cost of a separate tee, tube cutting and additional welds with forming a branch in the run tube material. TEC-220 prepares a collar for welding the branch tube. Selection starts with the actual geometry, material and joint quality requirements.

Processing at one position

Successive stages are performed at one workstation. The branch tube can then be joined to the prepared collar by manual or orbital welding.

Programmes for repeat parts

Stored settings make it easier to return to earlier jobs. The operator can use standard programmes and adapt them to the task.

Configuration for the tube size

Tables, guides, APS positioning and tool handling assistance are selected for tube length, weight and branch positions.

How does the process work?

  1. Hole milling

Prepare the pilot hole for the required branch diameter.

  2. Collaring

The tool draws material from the run tube to form a branch.

  3. Trimming

Trim the collar edge before the next joining operation.

What do we need for selection?

Provide the material, run tube diameter and wall thickness, branch diameters, spacing and batch size.

Before you choose

Does the range up to Ø813 mm apply to every wall thickness?

No. Run tube diameter, branch diameter, material and wall thickness form a specific combination. We check it against the capacity tables, including any need for HD tools.

Does TEC-220 automatically position successive branches?

Automatic positioning is provided by the optional APS system. Tube handling and positioning are agreed when the workstation is configured.
