TEC-220 increased INSS-POL’s collaring capacity
INSS-POL manufactures demanding steel piping installations. As projects became more complex, the company needed higher output, a wider diameter range and the ability to produce more outlets in less time.
From a portable tool to the TEC-220
INSS-POL purchased its first T-DRILL machine, a portable collaring tool, in 2020. As production began to involve more complex components and demand for speed and capacity increased, the company decided to invest in an industrial solution.
The choice was the TEC-220. The machine was intended to form outlets in tubes for customers in sectors including automotive, dairy, brewing, chemicals and pharmaceuticals. For INSS-POL, a wider dimensional range and the ability to form larger outlets were key considerations.
Why T-DRILL and the TEC-220?
According to the manufacturer’s official case study, INSS-POL had decided from the outset that its next collaring machine would be a T-DRILL solution. TARGA, the Polish T-DRILL representative, advised the company on the configuration.
Following the needs assessment, the TEC-220 was recommended to increase collaring capabilities. T-DRILL visited Poland to demonstrate the solution. After the purchasing decision, the manufacturer’s engineers commissioned the machine, and the first collar was produced after 48 hours.
INSS-POL described the process from quotation to commissioning as efficient and highlighted the quality of the support received.
More outlets in less time
Greater production capabilities
The TEC-220 enables more outlets to be produced in less time, accommodates a wider dimensional range and supports components that the company could not previously manufacture as efficiently.
Quality of prefabricated components
The manufacturer cites INSS-POL’s view that the new capabilities improved the preparation of prefabricated components and isometric piping work, raising production capacity to a level the company could not have reached without the TEC-220.
A new customer within the first weeks
INSS-POL gained a new customer within the first weeks of using the TEC-220. The company noted that the investment enabled it to serve a wider customer base and new manufacturing partners.
Investing in further growth
At the time the reference was published, the machine had been operating at INSS-POL for around a month. The company expected a relatively short payback period through improved production efficiency and profitability, and the ability to accept new orders.
For INSS-POL, the TEC-220 expanded the scale of its operations: greater production flexibility, a wider component range, shorter lead times and opportunities to work with additional customers.
TARGA’s role
As the Polish T-DRILL representative, TARGA helped select the solution for INSS-POL and supported the customer during the sales process. Implementation and commissioning were carried out together with the T-DRILL team.
